The roof is the most expensive thing you will never see.
It is also the one thing that protects everything else. Repair it when it is a repair, replace it when it is a replacement, and do not let anyone tell you which without looking.
Roof renovation or roof replacement is the repair, upgrade or full change-out of a roof. The roof is a home's primary barrier against rain, wind and sun, which makes it one of the most critical investments in residential maintenance. We show you what is actually up there — decking condition, flashing, valleys, penetrations — because that is what determines how long the next roof lasts.

Deciding between repair and replacement.
-
Repair when it is a repair
A single leak, a lifted shingle tab, a bad flashing detail on a chimney. When the rest of the roof is sound, a targeted repair is the correct answer and we will say so even when a full replacement would pay us more.
-
Replace when the roof is spent
Multiple layers, granule loss, widespread daylight in the attic, decking that flexes underfoot. At that point a repair is buying time on a roof that has no run left.
-
Flashing is where roofs fail
Chimneys, valleys, skylights, vents and pipe penetrations cause most leaks — not the field of the shingle. That is where we spend our inspection time.
-
Insurance claim assistance
If the damage is storm-related we document it properly and work alongside your adjuster. We fill the scope the claim actually covers rather than padding it.
From the first call to a dry house.
-
Inspection and photos
We get on the roof if it is safe to do so and photograph what we find. You get the photos whether or not you hire us.
-
Repair vs replace, with reasons
You get a written scope showing what we found and why we recommend one path over the other.
-
Insurance coordination if applicable
For storm damage we meet the adjuster and document the scope so the claim reflects the actual work.
-
Install and cleanup
Tear-off, decking repair, underlayment, flashing, shingles, cleanup and a final walk. We magnet the lawn.
Roof prices are driven by what is underneath.
If a storm is on the way and your roof is actively leaking, tarping or emergency dry-in is a separate immediate service. Call and say it is active — we will tell you whether we can get to you today.
What Memphis homeowners ask about roofs.
How do I know if I need a repair or a replacement?
Age, layer count and condition tell most of the story, but only an inspection tells the rest. A roof can look fine from the street and have serious decking damage underneath.
Will my insurance cover a storm-damaged roof?
Often a portion of it. Deductibles, policy language and whether you had prior damage all matter. We document properly and work with your adjuster — we do not negotiate your claim for you.
How long does a roof replacement take?
A typical single-family asphalt shingle roof is one to three days depending on size, pitch and decking condition. Metal and complex roofs take longer.
Can you match the shingles on a partial repair?
Usually, if the material is still available and the color has not faded much. We will tell you when a patch will be visible rather than pretending it will blend perfectly.
What ventilation does my roof need?
Enough soffit, ridge and gable ventilation to exhaust attic heat. In a Memphis summer an unventilated attic adds significant load to both the roof structure and the cooling system underneath it.
